Network Adapters

Purchasing *BSD and Linux compatible network cards is somewhat harder for gigabit ethernet and wireless ethernet cards since they are newer.

The starred ones have best support, with one notable exception, the Intel gigabit is not fully open source and supported directly by Intel.
