Question about Culture
Voicemail in the US has become pretty standardized. To go forward a message, you push 6, and to go back you push 4. This may be embedded in our writing system which goes left to right. Thus, 6, being on the right side indicates that we're continuing to "write" and advances a message. Contrariwise, 4, being on the left side, indicates that we need to go back to what has already been "written" and goes back a messge.
Assume that the telephone keypad is the same. In cultures that write right to left, would 4 advance to the next message and 6 go back?
