Wish List

Gweilo (ISBN: 0553816721) caught my eye in a bookstore in Hong Kong. I haven't gotten around to reading it.

Nikon WC-E63 is a wide angle converter for the Nikon CoolPix 990. I thought the camera was overpriced when I received it as a gift. But it is truely a workhorse and lasted through thousands of picture. I think it was one of the earlier digitals that had additional lens adapters which made it able to address fisheye to telephoto without having a whole backpack dedicated for lenses. I have been slow to purchase the lenses, but with the recently hot real estate market, I bought the fisheye adapter. It gave some great pictures so I have been drooling over the wide angle converter so I can zoom from the wide angle to a normal shot.

The one thing that I've been complaining about the CoolPix 990 is its slow shot-to-shot time. It's also big and requires a lot of batteries. I'm going to get me an ultra compact and take oodles more pictures. I'll lug the 990 around to get the wide angle shots without having to change lenses.

It would be really funny to have a camera rig that has all the lenses mounted so you can get all the context and detail with one trigger.
