Portable Apps

I installed the standard edition of Portable Apps on a 2GB USB flash disk. It filled up the whole disk even though the installation was supposed to be about 260MB. The cluster size of the FAT16 filesystem quickly uses up the USB flash disk. Rather than reformat it in FAT32, I'm going all-out and using compressed folders in NTFS.

The lite suite is a 30MB download and installs 94.8MB with some internal fragmentation to use 99.0MB of disk on 4KB clusters. It places 1785 files and 254 folders. In NTFS it compresses down to 67.8MB.

The standard suite is 89.5MB download and installs to 247MB and 256MB on disk. There's 3671 files and 534 folders. In NTFS it compresses to 176MB.
