Implications of "anyone can program"
Remy from "Ratatouille" and the one laptop per child would promote anyone to program. However, the book, "Geekonomics," claims that programmers should be licensed to avoid catastrophic applications of technology. It should probably license the act of technology application, not programmers. The key factor here is scale. Small scale can be programmed by anyone--so everyone can benefit from the power of computers. As the applications scale and become more critical, the technology should be reviweed.
